d.none of this
this question is a big controversy…it is stated in the paragraph that he looked familiar but i couldn’t quite recognise him.then it hit me.the bicycle accident…all of the student will think the bicycle hit oliver…but none of the options included the bicycle so i think you must consider both option b and d as this question is confusing…

IEO-2016 for Grade 1

Q.25.would you like to colour this picture?

A. Yes, please! It’s a park isn’t it?
B. I like going to parks.
C. The picture is beautiful.

In the key given, the answer is ‘C’. But I think it’s option ‘A’ which is correct.WE use would in case of request.the answer must start with yes(option A)

#8

OPTION A IS CORRECT.WE use would in case of request.the answer must start with yes(option A).

#9

Set A, Class 1:
Q.No.25: Would you like to colour this picture?
A) Yes, please! It is a park, isn’t it?
B) I like going to parks.
C) The picture is beautiful.

In the answer key option C is given to be the right answer. But I think option A is the appropriate one.
Reasons:

  1. The most usual form of short answers to verbal questions (i.e., questions beginning with an auxiliary) begins with ‘Yes’ or ‘No’.
    (i.e. Q: Would you like to have a horse?
    A: Yes, I would./ No, I would not.)
  2. ‘Would like to…’ denotes a sense of ‘offer’, ‘politeness’. It also means ‘want’. In that case when one is asked if he/she would like to colour that picture, the obvious reply would be ‘yes, please…’ OR ‘No, I would not’.
    Further, this reply has a sense of politeness and request too, which is in right balance with the question given.
  3. Again if the question were ‘How is the picture?’, the reply would be ‘The picture is beautiful’.

Hence, I think of the appropriateness of option A.

@Andy_Kate
Class 9 Set A

  1. Yes, answer should be C.
  2. Yes, answer should be B.
    21 and 22 - I currently do not have the passage on which the questions are based, so cannot answer these.

@Prasanna_Tavidaboina
Class 1 Set A

  1. Yes, answer should be A in my opinion.

@rimli_gupta
Class 7 Set A

  1. D is the most appropriate answer.

  2. This is a bit dicey. If the kid is referring his specific school bus, then answer should be A. If he takes any bus to school, then it could be B.

  3. Anil:“since they have won the lottery they have stopped talking to us” mohan:"-------------" – B is the more appropriate response.

  4. Shalu:“everyone looks nervous in the room. Wonder who has tge guts to be the first one?” vassan:“i agree,so -----------------” – A is the more appropriate response.

  5. A seems like a more appropriate response in this informal brother sister conversation although gramattically all options fit in.

  6. C is the most appropriate response.

@alokk77
Class 2 Set A

  1. C should be the correct answer.

#13

this is what I am saying…thanks for reply :smile:
